Café Kwae was a client before it began operating out of One Airport Square. IDS was on board for strategy and budgeting as well as the first set of projections on whether the Café should go ahead with opening or not.
Not being of a financial background, the most important thing for Café Kwae’s owner, Yvette, was that she have readily available information that she could be able to make financial decisions with.
IDS came on board to give her management information and accounting support and check that it had met all required regulations to be able to run. We took a deep dive into the café numbers, charting what the total percentage of drinks to the income was and suggesting ways the business could increase drink sales.
Managing a very busy kitchen on her own, it’s difficult for the CEO to have eyes everywhere, but with the records books and accounts that we assisted her to run, she was able to track all input and resources, and accurately gauge expected output.
Many people don’t want to see the numbers behind their businesses because they reveal things they may suspect but don’t want to know.
However tracking your numbers, like Yvette has come to find out, is crucial to business growth.
Yvette is working on the launch of an off-premise catering site as the next phase of the business and is very confident about financial decision-making. She’s more strategic about growth and the day-to-day management of the café, and now accurately anticipates financial needs of her business.
